The Skottsberg cutting board is made of American maple wood. It is the perfect type of wood to enjoy cutting on without blunting your knife. Besides, did you know that a wooden cutting board is much more hygienic than a plastic one? Because the natural tannin in the wood kills bacteria. And maple wood contains another extreme amount of this bactericidal substance. We made this board by gluing head-sawn pieces of wood together, giving the board a self-healing ability and making scratches on your board almost non-existent. The Wood Works cutting board is extremely strong, so with proper use it will last a lifetime. As the cutting board is oiled with our Skottsberg Tung oil, all pores of the wood are filled, preventing bacteria, dirt and moisture from penetrating.
